Giving Thanks for Faithful Ministry
Although the time is right and I am excited to retire, I’m leaving my position with the MNO Synod in sadness and with a heavy heart. While I have enjoyed all aspects of this work for the past 18 years, it is the people involved that have richly blessed my life that I will miss most. I have had the pleasure of serving and working with countless wonderful people including our pastors and deaconesses, those on our synod executives, councils, committees and boards, our youth and their leaders, executives, treasurers, staff, and many other members in our congregations, our Bishops and staff at our national office and at our four other Synods, GSI staff, our many partners, the Bishops and staff of the Anglican Diocese of Rupert’s Land with whom we currently share office space, and many, many more.
I have loved interacting with all of you, and I thank each and every one of you for your guidance, help, patience and kindness over the years. Especially, I have had the honour and privilege to serve 3 wonderful bishops–Bishop Dick, Bishop Elaine and currently Bishop Jason–and to work alongside them and their staff as they lead our synod according to God’s will and mission in this place. They have unknowingly inspired and uplifted my own faith in God…and for that I am truly grateful.
I will continue to hold our synod in my prayers and ask God to continue to lead us into grace, life and peace. In closing, I give thanks for the experiences and relationships I’ve formed while serving in this role, and now look forward to time and relationship with grandkids.
