Deacon Michelle and I are excited to announce that plans are underway for regular times for young adults to gather together in the MNO Synod and we are counting on you to help us spread the word (and if you are a Young Adult we hope you’ll be able to join us!) While we hope everyone will be as excited about young adult ministry as we are, we understand if you are not and if you do not want to receive further communication regarding young adult ministry please reply to this message and let me know.
At this time Messiah Lutheran Church, 400 Rouge Road, will be our Young Adult gathering site. We are hoping that the second Sunday of each month will become for Young Adults what the first Sunday of the month is for our Youth. We will gather on the second Sunday of each month from 5:30-7:00, spending time together centered around worship, fellowship, service and learning.
All are welcome whether you can join us every month or only once in a while and we value your voice and input as we work together to discover what Young Adult ministry looks like in our Synod. Our goal is that this be a ministry “with” young adults and not just “for” young adults so please share your ideas with us as we develop this area of ministry in our synod.
Our first gathering time will be on December 12. (Details below.) We know that this is Grey Cup Sunday and that this date/time will not work for everyone. However, we also know that not everyone is a football fan (GASP!) so we are hoping that our “Not A Grey Cup Party” will give those who are not gathering to watch the game the opportunity to spend time together. (And if you are watching the game know that we look forward to connecting with you in January or some future month.) RSVP for our December 12 gathering is December 10 so that we can ensure enough food for everyone. *Please note that as per Messiah’s COVID policies all participants must provide proof of full vaccination and masks must be worn while indoors.
We are very much looking forward to getting to know many of you and reconnecting with others. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me via this email or by text at 204-797-8184 or Deacon Michelle at firstname.lastname@example.org
We’d love to hear from you!
