Christmas Message from Bishop Jason
The celebration of Christmas is quickly approaching. For many of us, this is a season when we prepare for gatherings and gift-giving. Many of us brave the crowds that inevitably fill the malls and grocery stores. And many of us are busy cooking, baking, wrapping, and decorating.
My prayer for the people of the congregations that make up the Manitoba / Northwestern Ontario Synod is that we will also find time to reflect on this season and the wonderful and mysterious gift that God gives to the world.
Christmas is our opportunity to again witness how God has become incarnate in the world – how God’s Word has taken on life as we know it to live with us and among us here and now. This is our opportunity to see again how God’s presence fills our lives and all creation each day, and how we are called to walk alongside Christ in God’s ongoing ministry to the world.
This is a special time of year. It is a truly remarkable and awe-inspiring gift that we receive from God.
The staff at the MNO Synod office also want to tell each of you that you are a gift to us. We value and appreciate the ministry that we are able to do together in God’s name.
Blessings to you all in this Christmas season, and in the year to follow.
