Prayer Concern - Pastor David Lowe
Sincere thanks for everyone who has been praying for Pastor David Lowe. After a few unexpected setbacks, we are happy to share that he is well on the path to recovery from his double knee replacement surgery that took place on July 31. He will likely remain at Concordia Hospital until the end of August and he welcomes visitors to chat and pray together. All the prayers have been deeply felt by David and his family and we are confident they are assisting in his healing. Peace - Gloria Dei Office.

Governance Matters - Updating Congregational Constitutions and Administrative Bylaws
Looking to update or change your church constitution or administrative bylaws? Please note, that these changes must be ratified by MNO Synod Council. Before Synod Council can approve such changes, there are a number of steps by which a congregational council must take prior to sending the revised constitution to Synod Council for approval. These steps have been laid out for you in the document “Constitutional Change Instructions” prepared by the Synod Governance Committee. Please see the PDF available on the synod website here.

If, after submitting your updated constitution and bylaws to the Synod, recommendations are made by the Synod Governance Committee, the congregation need only have one (1) congregational meeting to approve the Synod recommendations.

Yours in Christ,
Rev. Courtenay Reedman Parker
Secretary, MNO Synod Council

Mission as Hope Appeal
Since this annual appeal began in 2009, it has allowed us to continue funding ongoing mission in our Synod, ministries like Luther Village, Lutheran Urban Ministry, Youth and Young Adult Programming and Cameroon visits.
Perhaps even more significantly, it has provided resources to do some new things in our Synod each year, which would have not been possible with the regular benevolence dollars.
Please find further information, including letter to congregations and bulletin inserts, here.
