The annual clergy study conference, held in partnership with the Diocese of Rupert’s Land and the Diocese of Brandon, is a time for learning, renewal and fellowship with colleagues. Rostered pastors and deacons serving under call or appointment are expected to attend.

Two nights (June 18-20)

If you select Double Occupancy, you are agreeing to share a room and we will need to know your roommate choice.
If you require accessibility accommodations (main floor, wider doorframes), please be as descriptive as possible with your needs, as the Resort only has one fully accessible room (walk in shower).
MNO clergy (and Anglican clergy serving MNO congregations) are encouraged to plan to arrive on Tuesday afternoon for a pre-conference time of focused discussion and conversation at Gimli Lutheran Church (see agenda). Anglican clergy may choose to arrive on Tuesday evening (additional cost). Please select the Three-night option. The Lutheran/Anglican study conference will begin on Wednesday morning (see agenda).
Clergy are welcome to bring additional family members to the resort. These guests will need to register for meals. They are welcome to join the clergy for meals and for morning and evening worship.
Registration and payment due by May 10, 2025. No refund for cancellation after May 11, 2025. You may pay via e-transfer (mnosynod@elcic.ca), mail a cheque (935 Nesbitt Bay), or request an invoice from the Diocese.

**note that there is a bar/restaurant in the hotel, and several restaurants in the area. Most restaurants take payment via debit/credit card, but some have a cash only requirement after certain hours.
Childcare will be provided for children (age 2-12, no diapers) for a fee during keynote and programme sessions of the event. Children will join adults for meals, and can join adults for worship. Please register name(s)/age(s) of children on registration. More information will be sent to those who request childcare.

The Same Story Still: a rediscovery of Scripture
Kirstin Jeffrey Johnson, PhD St Andrews (Institute of Theology, Imagination, & the Arts), is an independent scholar and the director of ‘Windstone Farm Linlathen,’ an ecumenical Theology, Ecology, & the Arts non-profit in the Ottawa Valley, Canada (See the Linlathen You-Tube site for conference videos) – where she stewards and is in part rewilding a 19thc settler farm, on traditional unceded Algonquin Anishinaabe territory. Kirstin publishes and lectures widely on the 19th century literature scholar and social activist George MacDonald, as well as Victorian Literature, the Inklings, and the integration of theology, ecology, and the arts. She is on the Board several Inklings journals and societies, as well being Board Trustee for the Americas for the environmental organization A Rocha. Kirstin has recent chapters in An Introduction to Child Theology (2022), Unsaying the Commonplace (2024), and Where the River Goes (2025). She has also written introductions for several new MacDonald publications, including Lilith (2022), The Hope of the Gospel (2023), and the full-text graphic novel of The Golden Key (2023). Her online work includes numerous podcasts and interviews as well as lectures and classes, primarily – but not soley! – on the topic of George MacDonald. When not otherwise occupied, Kirstin delights in (re)introducing academics and clergy (amongst others) to the Book of Nature.

Enjoy some peace and quiet or an exciting adventure in Gimli, an Icelandic town full of history. Lakeview Gimli Resort is located right in the heart and soul of Gimli. You can walk right along the boardwalk, go to the beach, head to the Viking Museum, the Viking Park, the Glider statue, the Gimli Art Club, the Gimli Sea Wall is a beautiful walk with the family and to look at the marina, the infamous H.P. Tergensens for shopping. The resort also has great little shops within.
