Accompaniment Visit with Rev. Marie Besong

Hosted by the Global Mission Committee, Rev. Tientcheu Djomgoue Marie Besong from Cameroon will be visiting the MNO Synod June 7-16 to build relationship, share in conversation and fellowship, and learn together.  Pastor Marie will be sharing and visiting at a series of locations throughout her visit.  Anyone is welcome to attend the events at congregations in Winnipeg.

Pastor Marie is an ordained pastor from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cameroon (EELC), and is among the first scholarship recipients of the Hélène Ralivao Fund through Lutheran World Federation.  She is pursuing doctoral studies in pastoral care and psychotherapy at the Martin Luther University College (associated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada) under the Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario.  Learn more about this at https://lutheranworld.org/blog/toward-more-inclusive-safe-and-just-communities

Pr. Marie’s itinerary will include:
June 7-9: Women’s Retreat at Luther Village
June 10: congregational visits in Winnipeg
12:00 noon at First Lutheran Church to visit with and hear about community ministry. A light meal will be provided.
6:00 pm at Faith Lutheran Church to visit with and hear about community ministry.  A light meal will be provided (free will offering).
June 11-14: Lutheran/Anglican Clergy Study Conference in Gimli
June 16: 10:30 am–worship and preach at St. Luke’s Zion Lutheran Church.  A light meal will follow worship.
