Accompaniment Visit with Rev. Marie Besong Hosted by the Global Mission Committee, Rev. Tientcheu Djomgoue Marie Besong from Cameroon will be visiting the MNO Synod June 7-16 to build relationship, share in conversation and fellowship, and learn together.  Pastor Marie will be sharing and visiting at a series of locations throughout her visit.  Anyone is welcome to attend the events at congregations in Winnipeg. Ecumenical Service for WPCU

MNO Synod leaders participated and attended the city-wide ecumenical service observing the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (WPCU) on Sunday, Jan. 22.  The service was organized and hosted by Father Robert Palz (Ecumenical Liaison, RC Archdiocese of Winnipeg) and St. John XXIII Catholic Parish.  Using the materials created for the WPCU by the Minnesota Council of Churches, the service focused on the theme of "do good. Seek justice (Isaiah 1:17)."  Ritual actions invited participants to remember the significance of the waters of baptism, as well as listen to the stories of those who have suffered from the lack of justice. Synod Youth Create Worship Banner

As part of the Thanksgiving Retreat, youth learn and explore different aspects of worship as part of planning and preparing for Sunday morning worship.  This year, that included reflecting on and adding to a worship banner that expresses the upcoming theme for CLAY: “Ashes & Embers”.  This banner will be part of upcoming synod youth worship services in this year leading up to CLAY. Easter Vigil Service

A pre-recorded Easter Vigil service will be premiered on the MNO Synod YouTube channel on Saturday, April 16 at 5:00 p.m.  This service is a collaboration of more than 15 congregations throughout the synod and includes contributions from more than 50 people.  Plan on setting aside some time on Saturday to join with others and hear the stories and songs of our faith as a way of ushering in the Light of the Resurrection. The MNO Synod has put together a brief service of lessons and carols for the season of Christmas.  Music is provided by the Synod Youth Ministry band, Prairie Fire, and readings and prayers are led by various pastors throughout the synod.
